As we enter Doorway 8 we turn up the intensity. This house corresponds to the sign of Scorpio, ruled by the planet Pluto, Lord of the Underworld. This is where we address our relationship to transformation. Doorway 8 is where we share resources, alchemically change ourselves through healing, and our relationships become sexual. This is where we die to our old selves and are reborn. This is the house of the occult, where secret knowledge is shared. The 8th Doorway is about inheritance and taxes, too.
We cross the map, from the explorations of personal money and values, in Doorway 2, to Doorway 8 where we consider our relationship to other people’s money, and resources that are shared, whether in a marriage, business partnership or inheritance. This house is about taking the personal resources we have and making more of them, through investments, for example. This is also where we find overlooked resources that have been neglected or abandoned and restore them to value again, as in antiques or old houses.
They say death and taxes are the only sure things in life and the 8th House is where we find them both. Many of the topics in this house are not discussed in polite company. Some of these topics are considered off-limits because we were taught they are shameful. Some of them are complex, and those who don’t know what we know just wouldn’t understand.
This house includes the ways in which we transform and become more powerful.
