Truth is one of the key themes of Doorway 9. Without truth, there can be no real wisdom. Our ideals are just glorified ideas if they aren’t based in truth. Our beliefs are just ideas that have been passed on if they haven’t been weighed on the scales of truth.
And today, we find ourselves in the time of the anti-truth, the war against truth, when false information easily passes as news and comes at a rate that is designed to make us all throw our hands in the air in frustration.
What’s true is neither debatable nor is it elusive. What’s true is obvious. What’s true is what looks and feels clean and clear. What’s true may be inconvenient to some, but it isn’t usually complex. Things get complicated and messy when we are avoiding the truth.
As Gloria Steinem famously said, “The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off.” If you want to be real with yourself, you have to know what’s true for you.
We had a good conversation about truth on the call for Doorway 9. Sometimes the truth isn’t simple. Sometimes people don’t want to hear it. Sometimes you don’t want to say it. And yet, in order to live your own life and be true to who you are, knowing the truth is vital. Do with it what you will, but your awareness of truth works as a guiding light and homing device for that which belongs in your life and that which you are better off without.
Adela’s Insights on Truth
Have you ever been in a battle for truth? You and someone else have a differing reality on what really happened. This is the source of most of our troubles. We’re each living in a reality of our own making. When our reality clashes with someone else’s the battle for the truth begins.
Except, once we follow the rabbit trail we see that there’s truth and there’s what’s true. When you live according to what’s true it requires you live in the moment. That’s a great place to play.
Goddess of Now
The Goddess of Now says we all know, deep down, what’s true for us. The more we honor what is true in each moment of Now, the more gracefully your life will unfold. The biggest obstacle to living true to your self is a lack of trust in the divinity within you. Once you open to it, it can swiftly guide you back to the sweet spot of balance and harmony.
The Goddess says that one of your challenges as a person is to discover what is true. Humans are complex beings, with aspects of you pulling in different ways, sometimes in opposing directions. Living true ultimately means coming to terms with the parts of yourself that have conflicting agendas. This is the ideal. In the meantime, check in with yourself whenever something feels less than ideal. This will help you to come back into alignment with your True North Star.
