Justice and a sense of fair play are at the heart of all successful interactions. You may not consciously think in those terms, but these are the things that contribute to a free and fair society. For some people, these are major life themes, others of us take for granted that this is the way it is, and go about our business.
Today’s topic is one where I feel that Jodi and I are twin sisters, yet again. I have a highly developed sense of fairness. I remember being a child and going to the grocery store. The elderly mom at the register would often give me the wrong change and I’d hand it right back. (The sons were often very short with her because she was slower and forgetful.)
I’d always feel this flow from my heart. Even then, I knew the feel of kindness. I’m grateful for that inner pilot light.
I remember, even as a child being very clear about what was and wasn’t fair. I had a strong sense that people should be treated justly. It felt really bad when someone got special treatment or got away with something I’d been punished for in the past. I believed that justice should and would prevail. Unfortunately, this was an ideal that is easier to accomplish in the abstract than in a family with parents who are already overwhelmed. I still have a strong sense of fair play and do my best to hold up my side of any bargain or arrangement I make.
Goddess of Now
The Goddess of Now speaks in terms of what is fair. When you are aligned with the truth of who you are, it is easy to make agreements you can keep. When you have doubts or conflicting priorities, it is easy to agree to something that isn’t really right for you. And then you must either do something we don’t want to do or find a way to back out and potentially let someone else down. If we want to be fair, honesty is the best policy.
The Goddess says the sooner you honor the truth of how you feel, the less upheaval and disappointment will be created. If something isn’t working for you, you can be certain it isn’t really working for the other person, either. Trust yourself to know what is right.

Feel your sense of inner equanimity and the way your body can quickly adapt to a new center. Know you can always access this dynamic balance.[/thrive_custom_box]
