Day 33: Reputation

Vocabulary.com says, ‘Your reputation is the general belief or opinion that other people have about you. If you are considered trustworthy and kind, you have a good reputation.’

In an ideal world, your reputation is an honest assessment of who you are. Learning what other people have said about you can be enlightening. Or it can be devastating. Not everyone is going to understand who you are or why you make the choices you do. At best, you can do your best, and know for yourself who you are, and what you are all about. The more clear you are on your own value as a person, the more easily you can navigate the world. Other people’s opinions of you can be good feedback that lets you know you are missing the mark or not being clear in some way.

Reputation is really about the judgments and expectation of others who have seen or heard of you but may not really know you at aoo. So, maybe the question is, what do you want people to say about you? Do you want a reputation for being gutsy? Do you want a reputation for being confident? Do you want a reputation for being helpful? Do you want a reputation for being fun? Do you want a reputation for being spontaneous?

If you purposely start leading with the things you want people to notice and appreciate about you, you might have more to say about your (good) reputation than you would otherwise imagine possible!

Adela’s Insights

Your reputation is not really within the realm of your control. It’s based on the perception of others, which makes it tricky. You can do great work in the world and still there will be people that put you down. I’ve noticed this with colleagues who’ve gotten tremendous visibility (and it’s happened in my own online events and telesummits), people will say negative things about you when it is nowhere near your actual intention and delivery.

This is more a reflection of the person, than your own ability or performance. These folks are in the minority but it can be hurtful and knock you off your center until you’re really solid on your work in the world.

By far most of the feedback I’ve had on my events has been extraordinary. That lets me know that the effort and work that I put into my events is spot on and well received. One of the greatest pleasures in meeting someone new is when they tell me they’ve heard nothing but great things about me.

When it comes to your reputation keep your eye on the prize – your own work.  It’s the only thing you can truly control or shape. Let the accolades come when they may, and don’t focus on the negative nellies. They’re probably not the folks you’re here to serve.

The Goddess of Now

The Goddess of Now says, if you allow yourself to be controlled by the fear of what anyone else says or does, you have forgotten whose life you are living. If you think of your reputation as an image that others who don’t really know you, have pieced together, it’s easier to put it in perspective. The important thing is to live your life in such a way that what others say has no effect on you.

The Goddess says when you live from the heart, in the Now, decisions about how to live your life become much more clear. About that time, you may find you’ve gained a reputation for always being in the right place at the right time; or being so lucky; or having great instincts; or having a lucky star!

Take it in and let it seep into your being until it is woven into the fabric of what you know of yourself.[/thrive_custom_box]

Day 32: Access Your Feminine Wisdom

Philosophy offers a way of seeing life from a broader perspective that can help you make sense of the world and your place in it. For the purposes of The Goddess Revolution, we are inviting you to consider your life through the philosophical perspective of the Goddess of Now.

Vocabulary.com says, “The original meaning of the word philosophy comes from the Greek roots philo- meaning ‘love’ and –sophos, or ‘wisdom’. So, philosophy is the love of wisdom.

There have been many schools of thought on wisdom, the Greeks particularly reveled in exploring the meaning of life and humanity, but these were records and writings by men about men. Before God(s) there was the Goddess. Archaeology supports this claim, as most of the unearthed sculptures from the past 30,000 years have been of some form of the female form, the Goddess.

Doorway 9 offers us many outlets for learning and utilizing philosophy; higher education, travel to different countries and cultures, university, the law. Teachers and preachers and politicians all base their work and help shape society with their philosophies of what is of value. There is so much to know, and even the thought of digging deeper into what the arts and sciences really mean and say about us, as a society, is fascinating.

Adela’s Insights on Philosophy

Have you ever felt at a loss when making an important decision, or embarking on a new pathway? We all have moments when we doubt our beliefs and our choices. Sometimes it’s the abundance of choices that can be a stumbling block. In a world where answers can be gleaned with a quick Google search, you may even wonder why all the bother? Except it’s your life and your choices. It’s your adventure and it matters.

There are times when information won’t do. The deeper questions and causes call for wisdom. Your feminine wisdom is the most reliable resource in supporting your best outcome. In the same way that your DNA contains information about your eye color and body type you also contain the wisdom of the ages. So, when your current worldview isn’t working perhaps a shift in philosophy is at hand.

Goddess of Now

The Goddess of Now says the Greek word Sophos, at the root of philosophy comes, from Sophia, Goddess of Wisdom, who represents the feminine aspect in all things. Philosophy brings you into alignment with your own feminine wisdom in unexpected ways.

The Goddess says history is not her story. (She’s been saying this to me for weeks, now.) As you consider anything from a feminine angle, much more is revealed than the information that passed as wisdom that is written in history books and college texts. As you look at where you come from and what you value through your feminine heart, much more will be revealed to you.

[thrive_custom_box title=”Energy Shift” style=”light” type=”color” color=”#7100e2″ border=”#1e73be”]Before you dive into today’s writing take a moment to drop into the center of your being. Feel the wellspring of wisdom within you. Imagine that there is an infinite library. It goes on as far as the eye can see, wall to wall, floor to ceiling, comfy couches, and chairs, outdoor reading lounge with plants and a pond, gold spiral staircases, ladders to reach the books on high. Think of something that’s been niggling at you, that you don’t have the answer to yet. Find your way to the bookcase that calls to you. Find the book, open it and let your answer arise.[/thrive_custom_box]

Day 31: The Truth Is . . .

Truth is one of the key themes of Doorway 9. Without truth, there can be no real wisdom. Our ideals are just glorified ideas if they aren’t based in truth. Our beliefs are just ideas that have been passed on if they haven’t been weighed on the scales of truth.

And today, we find ourselves in the time of the anti-truth, the war against truth, when false information easily passes as news and comes at a rate that is designed to make us all throw our hands in the air in frustration.

What’s true is neither debatable nor is it elusive. What’s true is obvious. What’s true is what looks and feels clean and clear. What’s true may be inconvenient to some, but it isn’t usually complex. Things get complicated and messy when we are avoiding the truth.

As Gloria Steinem famously said, “The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off.” If you want to be real with yourself, you have to know what’s true for you.

We had a good conversation about truth on the call for Doorway 9. Sometimes the truth isn’t simple. Sometimes people don’t want to hear it. Sometimes you don’t want to say it. And yet, in order to live your own life and be true to who you are, knowing the truth is vital. Do with it what you will, but your awareness of truth works as a guiding light and homing device for that which belongs in your life and that which you are better off without.

Adela’s Insights on Truth

Have you ever been in a battle for truth? You and someone else have a differing reality on what really happened. This is the source of most of our troubles.  We’re each living in a reality of our own making. When our reality clashes with someone else’s the battle for the truth begins.

Except, once we follow the rabbit trail we see that there’s truth and there’s what’s true. When you live according to what’s true it requires you live in the moment. That’s a great place to play.

Goddess of Now

The Goddess of Now says we all know, deep down, what’s true for us. The more we honor what is true in each moment of Now, the more gracefully your life will unfold. The biggest obstacle to living true to your self is a lack of trust in the divinity within you. Once you open to it,  it can swiftly guide you back to the sweet spot of balance and harmony.

The Goddess says that one of your challenges as a person is to discover what is true. Humans are complex beings, with aspects of you pulling in different ways, sometimes in opposing directions. Living true ultimately means coming to terms with the parts of yourself that have conflicting agendas. This is the ideal. In the meantime, check in with yourself whenever something feels less than ideal. This will help you to come back into alignment with your True North Star.

Day 30: Tap Into Your Intuition

Have you ever heard that still small voice? Yeah, me too. Here’s the thing the more you listen to that voice – take action on it – the more that voice speaks to you. You probably know that by now.

Intuition is inner guidance. You don’t always have to be still to hear it either. You can be taking a shower, going for a walk or washing the dishes and get a download.

Intuition is a function of the higher mind aspect of Doorway 9. Intuition can come to you in a variety of ways. For some, it’s a niggling feeling about something that feels inviting but is not something you would normally do, so maybe you ignore it. Sometimes intuition is a voice in your head that clearly tells you something is right for you, or not. It can also be a feeling you get when you are in the company of someone or something that isn’t good for you.

Intuition offers the information first and the context later. If you have learned to trust your inner urges, it is usually crystal clear through hindsight what it was all about.

Adela’s Insights On Intuition

I’ve always heard that whisper, urge, prompting to do this or that (contrary to my conscious thoughts). I haven’t always listened or welcomed it, especially when I was younger and more full of myself (smile). Youth has a way of being arrogant, full of “I know. I know. I know.”

As Life delivered more opportunities for awareness – crisis, breakdown, pain – it softened me. It wore down my resistance. I started slowing down, paying attention, questioning everything. That’s when it got really interesting. The more I opened to the possibility that I didn’t know everything the more I started to Know the important things.

Life is very different now. I feel more clarity and certainty as to what to do. When I don’t I trust that I am going in the right direction. I Know that I’m in good hands and I’m open to the dance. The dance changes. I find the rhythm. It’s always there.

The work I do in the world now is solidly based on tapping into this deeper Knowing. My work with clients and community, my events, are ALL anchored in this deeper playground. It is where the magic is sourced. Not only do I trust it completely. I surrender to the greater vision that moves through me again and again and again. It’s a glorious adventure!

Jodi’s Insights On Intuition

I have spent decades cultivating and refining my ability to receive intuition. It was coming to me before I had any real clue what it was all about. And I certainly didn’t trust it. When I first started doing professional astrology readings for clients, I would get into the groove of the reading and before I knew it I was telling them something that I was feeling about them but had no idea how I knew it. Time after time, the client would say it validated or clarified something that had been a concern.

Practicing astrology opened my intuitive channels in a way nothing else had. The feedback I received made it clear that my clients were benefiting from it, and I learned to relax and allow it to come through me in other forms, as well.

I have taught intuitive development courses and often work with clients in honing their natural intuitive gifts. It’s wonderful to see them go from being uncertain they even have intuition to trusting themselves, without question.

One of the questions I’ve gotten about intution is, how do you know when the information you are receiving is intuition and not just fear.

  • Intuition feels supportive. It will continue to encourage the same thing, sometimes for years, until you finally take action.
  • Intuition comes out of the blue and isn’t necessarily related to what you are doing in the moment. You don’t know why you are getting that particular feeling or message, but it’s clear.
  • Intuition validates that something, despite the appearances of the situation and absense of proof.

Goddess of Now

The Goddess of Now says intuition is natural to everyone. You have within you the ability to know immediately whether something is beneficial for you or not. As life increasingly offers new possibilities and options, decisions must be made. By cultivating your intuitive gifts you will know what is right for you and when to act. Timing is key.

The Goddess says that well-honed intuition can save you time, money, and heartache. Intuition is one of the most important and efficient skills you can have. If you don’t feel you are intuitive, you can start to open and strengthen those muscles by paying attention and following every hunch and inkling and feeling, and see where they take you.

Day 29: Travel Expands Your Experience

Some people live to travel, some dread it. No matter where you fall on the spectrum you can’t deny that travel bestows powerful gifts. Those gifts occur as a consequence of your experience of different people, perspectives, and cultures. Travel is a doorway through which you can expand your world view, and who you are on the grander playground.

Travel allows us to experience other cultures, learn their customs, eat their foods, learn their languages, and experience life in a way that opens our eyes and hearts to more than we could ever learn in a book or movie.

Travel requires us to leave our comfortable, familiar surroundings and set off for the far horizon. Some of us do this without a second thought, for others, it can be a stress event, just getting out the door.

Adela’s Insights on Travel

I LOVE to travel. I’ve traveled a bit to Mexico, England, Australia, India, Hong Kong and throughout the United States. I’ve got a LONG bucket list of places still to visit. Some people get exhausted by travel, I get energized.

The more I travel the more I realize how much more alike we are than different. People have the same wants and needs, whether you’re in India or Indiana. Most of the places I’ve traveled have been a confirmation of the basic goodness on the planet. We are complex and compelling creations.

One of the things I’ve noticed is the benefit of traveling light, whether we’re talking your luggage and stuff or your beliefs and judgments. When you travel expecting to recreate your home you’re missing the whole point of visiting a different country or culture.  Go native. Imagine that you’re a local and go where they’d go. It’s what I often do.

Travel expands your perspective, powers up your gratitude and activates your humanity. It’s the best education you’ll find.

Jodi’s Insights on Travel

I have been an anxious traveler since I was a kid. There are so many things to be concerned about! I’m a wreck. I can never decide exactly what I’ll need or want to wear, so I’m prone to over-packing. I’m generally still stuffing one last thing in my suitcase on the way out the door. I worry that something will happen and I’ll miss my flight, no matter how early I leave for the airport. So, even the drive to the airport can be tense. Honestly, I’m making it sound better than it is. Once I finally get on the road, or on the plane, I finally relax and feel genuine excitement about the adventure ahead.

Travel isn’t one of my primary interests, but the travel I have done, to Hawaii, Mexico, Canada has been a pleasure. There are many more places I’d love to go, if only teleporting was a thing!

Goddess of Now

The Goddess of Now says travel is a soul-enhancing journey. Even the simple act of moving from one place to another that you’ve never been opens up aspects of you that you may otherwise never have realized. Travel shows you who you are in new circumstances and opens your heart to others who may experience life very differently.

The Goddess tells reminds you that you can travel to inner worlds, as well as other places in the physical world. The gateway is your own heart, mind and Goddess Chamber. The inner worlds don’t require the time, money and energy required for trips to other countries, and are rich with symbolism. There, you can access other dimensions and meet those who may no longer be part of your outer world. The Goddess of Now is always available to walk with you and be your guide. You might be surprised at where she takes you.

Day 28: Rebirth and Roar

There are moments in life when things fall apart in a big way. Though at first it might seem like the worst thing possible, with a little reflection and a little time you get to see that it’s an opportunity for a do-over, a rebirth of sorts.

If you live long enough you invariably encounter these portals of power, sometimes quite frequently. The smart thing to do when a vital vortex finds you is to open to it! It may seem natural to shut down, to resist, to refuse to entertain the notion that your world has turned upside down and things will never be the same. They won’t and that’s a good thing. You are poised at the portal of something heretofore unknown.

Rebirth is something we rarely speak of in our society, but everyone has been through it, in one way or another. Rebirth is what happens after you have been through hell and have relinquished the parts of yourself that you can no longer carry forward. This is the phoenix energy that rises from the ashes and lives a life free of the past.

There are many roads to rebirth, none of them are easy but all of them well worth whatever they cost you to get to the other side. Divorce, death of a loved one, disease, menopause, or the loss of a job will do it for many people.

You can also be reborn in a way that looks more positive but will also require giving up much of who you thought you were. Things like getting married, moving somewhere new where you don’t know anyone, beginning a new career, having a baby, or even starting your own business. Though theses events may not look or seem devastating, they will change you in ways, both subtle and glaring, that let you know you are on new ground.

Rebirth may happen suddenly or gradually. There are no hard and fast rules. Sometimes it is only in hindsight that you realize you are not the same person you were when the original event or decision occurred that put you on the path of profound transformation.

Goddess of Now

The Goddess of Now says we are all reborn in every moment. Each breath is an opportunity to start anew. Without realizing it, you live the same moments over and over again until it seems like things never change. Open your mind and heart to the endless possibilities available to you.

You are free to change course at any time you choose. It can be as simple as taking a breath and relaxing completely into the Now. Nothing is etched in stone. It is only your habits of thought and behavior that ever make it seem like you are stuck. At the very least, you can change your mind about something, and that alone will begin to shift the energy.

The Goddess tells us that your life is meant to be fluid and flowing, and yet there are times when you can no longer continue as you were. The major turning points in your life require a release of what was, so a deeper, wiser you can emerge. Embracing the transformation allows the magic of rebirth to occur more swiftly and gracefully.

Day 27: Do You Want To Know A Secret?

Secrets… we all have them, right? It’s a matter of numbers and degrees.

Most of us probably have a secret or two. And we’ve been entrusted with the secrets of others. There is a saying in 12 Step groups, “You’re as sick as your secrets.” The things you hide, or are ashamed of, create more shameful behavior. Shame-based secrecy makes liars of people.

We’re talking about something different in the 8th House. Here secrets have more to do with understanding what is or isn’t appropriate to share. The secrets in this house are about things that are deeply personal to you, like your sex life, your grief over the loss of a loved one, the conversations you have with your therapist, or health concerns and what you are doing to heal them. Having secrets doesn’t mean you can’t talk to anyone about the affairs of this house, just that you probably don’t discuss them publically. Keeping certain things private is another way of having personal boundaries.

Adela’s Insights

Have you ever kept a secret? Heady stuff, right? You’re entrusted with something that feels like a powder keg. Yes, there’s tremendous power in secrets. It is information, knowledge, in the hands of the few. Sometimes there are really good reasons for that.

I used to have to keep secrets (not the good kind). Now I live in a way that the secrets are few and far between and the right people are entrusted with them. Mostly, I’m transparent in my world (unless it doesn’t serve me or others).

There IS such a thing as too much information. A scroll down your Facebook Timeline will cure you of any notion to the contrary.

You know where your secrets are safest!

Jodi’s Insights

One of my mentors explained boundaries in a way that works well for 8th House issues. She had a Scorpio Sun Sign and for her, all of this was familiar territory. She said that appropriate boundaries can be likened to when people knock on your door. Some never make it past the front door. Others, you only invite into your living room. Still others, you invite into your kitchen, and maybe to stay for a meal. Only a very select few will ever be invited into your bedroom, though. Those will be the people you love and trust the most.

If you look at your life as your energetic house, your boundaries, in terms of how much you share will depend on who the person is and what level of trust you have in them. Even those we are super close to don’t need to know everything about us. Sometimes someone like a therapist, who is not part of our life at all, otherwise, knows more than those who raised us. And that is totally appropriate.

Goddess Of Now

The Goddess of Now says that having secrets can be a healthy and appropriate way to conduct your life. You are unique in all the world. Not everyone is going to understand everything about you. That’s the beauty of individuality. Secrecy and discretion are often encouraged when one is exploring the deeper mysteries of life.

The Goddess tells us that in its highest form, secrecy is related to the sacred. Those things you hold sacred, deserve your respect and discretion. Mystery is sacred. So is magic. Transformation and rebirth are, too. By honoring them, you honor yourself.

Day 26: Let’s Talk About Healing

When we speak of healing, we include mental and emotional, as well as physical health. This healing might be facilitated by any kind of doctor, practitioner and alternative healer that works for you. Sometimes, the healer is within you. Your own body is designed to heal and repair itself. Granted, there are times when it needs some assistance, but if the body isn’t involved in the healing, real health will not be restored.

There have been lots of studies and experiments documenting miraculous cures achieved with highly unconventional methods. In order for the body to heal, however, the person must somehow believe it is possible. There is the phenomenon called the placebo effect, wherein people in blind studies have received sugar pills, or even a fake surgery and had the same results, or better, than those receiving the drug or surgical procedure.

I have spent a lot of my adult life thinking and reading about healing and pursuing a healthy ideal. That pursuit taught me a lot about how to take care of myself. What I learned later was that there are some things we just have to go through, in order to heal. The healing occurs in living through the accident or dis-ease. As much as I would like to believe these things could be prevented by living well, and making wise choices, the body does have a life of its own, in many respects.

In order for healing to happen, a lot of other things have to stop. Healing requires energy and takes time. The healing process, for many people is like a death of the way they were and a rebirth into a new level of awareness of priorities and values and the miracle that is the body.

Goddess of Now

The Goddess of now says us that health is wholeness and in your wholeness you find your holiness. Fear and loss, of one kind or another, are at the heart of illness and malady. There is no shame in asking for support and encouragement when you have lost your sense of well-being. Reaching out to those you trust, can break old patterns that have kept you compromised and alone. Quality connections in and of themselves can set you on a path toward resolution and good health.

The Goddess tells us all healing involves the mind, body and spirit. Whether the dis-ease or affliction is mental, emotional or physical, all must be brought back into alignment for the being to truly flourish, again. This is rebirth, when you emerge stronger and more resilient than ever before.

[thrive_custom_box title=”Energy Shift” style=”light” type=”color” color=”#7100e2″ border=”#1e73be”]Before you dive into today’s topic, take a moment to connect to the cosmic healer within. Day 25: Sign On The Dotted Line

Contracts are one of the primary ways that we bring our energetic agreements into the world of time and space. Not only are the parties to the agreement involved, but they are affirming their commitment through a written pledge to honor a partnership where both sides benefit. It also includes the parties’ personal energy signatures.

In this final theme of Doorway 7, Contracts, for our purposes, include not only legal contracts but more casual agreements that we make with one another, as well.

You sign contracts for all kinds of things: rental agreements, sales contracts for cell phones service, and contracts for gym memberships, to name a few. You probably haven’t read all of the fine print. It can be time-consuming and overwhelming!

Contracts and agreements are something you probably don’t think too much about unless something unexpected happens and you realize you need to break them, for some unforeseen reason. That’s when you find out exactly what you have signed off on.

Adela’s Insights

For as long as I can remember I get nervous around legal stuff. I remember my first divorce. I went to court without a lawyer trusting my soon-to-be ex-husband and his lawyer. It turns out they lied to me, and trusting Adela, got screwed.

The anxiety also happened during my second divorce when my soon-to-be-ex-husband was trying to ‘convince’ me to take less money in my divorce settlement. I almost caved in, but miraculously held firm.

Later, when I found myself filing for bankruptcy the same jitters filled my body even though my case and paperwork were legitimate. The legal system unsettles me. Perhaps because I don’t trust it completely. I have had less than positive experiences.

It’s ironic that for most of my professional life I worked in law firms. I got to see the inner workings of how deals were made and unconscionable things were put into place ‘representing our clients.’ I got to the point in my life where I didn’t feel okay being a part of that world – even though I made great money and had awesome benefits. I chose to leave it. I’ve never regretted it. My life took on a truer tone.

Jodi’s Insights

I recently was on the other side, given the responsibility for writing a contract. It was interesting to research what the laws were and which things could be specified, to be clear about the ground rules.

When it comes to contracts, each party has the right to decide what they are willing to agree to and what doesn’t work for them. If you don’t like something, you can change it. At that point, it’s up to the other party to decide whether they are willing to agree to the change you made.

Contracts are written documents that spell out exact conditions, liabilities and limitations. Agreements, on the other hand, may be made verbally and only address the surface level, which sounds fine until you are under way, and realize there are unexpressed conditions and expectations… maybe on both sides.

There are also unspoken agreements, things that are assumed by one or both parties that seem to have a life of their own. You may unwittingly operate under the terms and conditions of these agreements for decades. And then one day you realize this feels compromising and doesn’t serve you.

Goddess of Now

The Goddess of Now says your agreements, whether contractual or casual, give you access to people and resources that allow you to expand your life in ways that wouldn’t otherwise be available to you. Your contracts and agreements, when approached consciously, can be empowering and support you in having healthier, more productive interactions with others. They help create reliable structure on which you can build.

The Goddess reminds you that you are always creating your reality. And you are always evolving. As you notice you are on new ground within yourself, reviewing and updating your agreements with others, helps keep the energy fresh, alive and of benefit to all. Becoming more skillful with your agreements increases your options to include the energy and resources of others in mutually beneficial ways.

Notice that you have ready access to your more expanded presence and awareness just by using your breath consciously. In this space and place where anything is possible, find your way to the Cosmic Record Hall and locate your cosmic contract for this lifetime. Notice what’s written. See if there’s anything you’d like to amend. Rescind, Revoke and Renew the ones that support you now. When you’re ready put the cosmic contract back in its place. Feel the certainty of knowing the essence of your agreements on the adventure.[/thrive_custom_box]

Day 24: The Gift of Relationship

A great relationship has to be among the top 3 items on anyone’s wish list. Beyond food and shelter, we all long to receive and give love (and touch). It’s just as essential as food and water. No wonder we go crazy when we don’t get this piece right!

Relationships are one of the aspects covered in Doorway 7. For our purposes, we are speaking of committed relationships, like domestic partners or long-term relationships, like best friends – those you trust and love, though not necessarily romantically.

It used to be that everyone in a long-term romantic relationship was married. These days there are a lot of different ways to do relationship, without the formal legal contract.

The difference between a 7th House relationship and a 5th House love affair is that the love affair can be deeply passionate, but it doesn’t last. The 7th House is about commitment. The 5th House love affair can evolve into a long-term marriage or relationship but many people experience a letdown, feeling ‘the honeymoon is over’, once they get into the day-to-day realities of sharing a life with someone.

Adela’s Insights

Relationships can be a difficult playground for many. I count myself among that group. As challenging as it can be it has also been a pathway to tremendous growth. No one will press your buttons more than someone you deeply care for. Perhaps that’s by design. After all, when you’re that close to someone it’s in your face and you have to deal with it. Great incentive for evolving, lol!
Though I’ve had several intimate relationships I still feel like a newbie at the relationship game. It’s one of those things I long for and have worked hard to salvage. Often I’ve made poor choices through fear or inexperience in relationships. I’m in a much better place now, much clearer on what works for me in relationship.
There are two relationships in my life that are amazing, the ones I have with my son and daughter. This I got right! It took work, yes, but it was worth every second. Is there anything better than being with someone who pulls your heart and soul strings, where connection is a poor attempt to describe the utterly amazing oneness you experience? Yes! Relationships are that amazing too.
With great risk, there is great reward!

Jodi’s Insights

Love affairs are all about chemistry and attraction. Relationships are about two people creating a life together, which means learning to get through tough times, as well as the good, intact. Relationships ask more of us. We must rise to the occasion, put the other person first, sometimes, and stay, at times when it would be easier to leave.

In marriage, or a long-term committed relationship, the higher purpose is that each person has a mirror to reflect their behavior and challenges back to them. And the other person has agreed to stay in the relationship. Often, people get into a disagreement or misunderstanding and rather than working through it, they escalate the drama and destroy what they had. Some relationships really aren’t meant for the long haul. But some could be, if we had the wherewithal to work through our own stuff and our partner did, too.

There are certainly some people with whom we are more compatible than others. If we are wise enough to choose them, instead of the one who looks good but isn’t really available, emotionally or otherwise, you will be way ahead of the game.

Ultimately, relationship shows you who we are, in ways casual friendship or acquaintances never can. When you aren’t in relationship, you remain oblivious to your blind spots. That is, until you get into the next relationship.

Goddess of Now

The Goddess of Now says your relationships are both a precious gift and a huge opportunity to evolve in ways that aren’t possible when you are not in a relationship. If you are enjoying single life, by all means, make the very best of it. If you choose not to be in a romantic relationship, it is beneficial to have other kinds of relationships with those who see, love and appreciate your presence in their life.

The Goddess says the love of a kindred spirit, in whatever form it comes to you, helps you to see yourself more clearly and supports you in flourishing. So many women have been afraid of really opening their hearts but when you are ready, it is your own heart that allows your life to heal in miraculous ways.

Imagine that your in-breath begins to draw the first half of an infinity sign. Pause at the juncture where the lines cross and feel yourself as the physical embodiment of the intersection of matter and infinite energy. Exhale as your out-breath completes the infinity sign. Do 4 cycles of breathing, or continue breathing until you feel the outside world dim and your inner world come front and center.[/thrive_custom_box]
